Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Specialized in planning and scheduling, the main role will be supporting the Project Scheduler, and Project Manager and monitor the progress during the execution phase of the project. You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain very high quality. You will gain knowledge through mentorship and skills development, fast-track your professional development to become a strong project control analyst. FMI is a General Contractor specializing in electrical installations that often requires scheduling and project controls throughout an array of various types of project disciplines and subcontractors. Responsibilities for this role includes the following:

Act as a Company representative and provide professional leadership by cultivating and promoting positive working relationships and communications with corporate management, site supervisors, client team members, subcontractors, and other contractors on site;
Analyze, track, and input schedule changes and delays into the progress schedule
Work alongside the project scheduler in Interactive planning session(s) with the area/team leads to establish a PMB;
Assist with developing various levels of schedule for the project as well as supporting the business development group during the proposal phase;
Able to perform critical path analysis to determine which deliverable have floated and which cannot slip schedule;
Manage internal and external client expectations and coach others in effective negotiation;
Ability to work with an internal and external client to create integrated EPC/client schedules;
Timely identification, notification, optimization, and recording of schedule scenarios supporting trends items that have the potential for future impact within project scope;
Provide technical support and work collaboratively with Scheduler and Project Managers to ensure that the project schedule scenarios (what-if) are developed to satisfaction;
Assist with maintenance of the master schedule baseline for engineering, procurement, and construction activities;
Work in close collaboration with other departments to prepare consistent outputs;
Convey an understanding of project evolution and serve as a preventative mechanism for unforeseen cost and schedule impacts;
Support the creation of project staffing plan and project hours to ensure necessary resources are available and appropriately assigned for both approved and proposed work;
Assist with identification of the impact of the project trends for cost and schedule, provide most accurate total impacts by ensuring the inclusion of all cost categories (engineering, material, equipment, construction) and schedule impacts;
Ensure all project/discipline related risks are raised;
Record risk items, update, and maintain risk register;
Other duties as required.

Education, Experience, and Credentials

Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Technology or equivalent industry experience;
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an active P6 Scheduler;
Experience with Primavera P6 a must;
Project Management experience, asset
Valuable experience in planning is considered an asset;
Understanding management of changes implications;
Understanding Earned Value Management guiding principles considered a plus;
Must be flexible and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
Attention to detail is critical;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
