Role Description
Fourth Frontier Technologies Corporation (FFTC) is seeking a highly motivated and self-starting engineering new-grad to support projects in development and factory acceptance testing of nuclear plant inspection and maintenance tooling, as well as nuclear equipment life cycle management, inspections and condition assessments of nuclear power plant components, and research and development efforts for various novel technologies in the nuclear energy field. Responsibilities will include leading hands on and on-site testing and commissioning of inspection and maintenance tooling for deployment in nuclear power plants, as well as contributing to, and leading preparation of life cycle management plans, condition assessment reports and other supporting documentation, conducting literature reviews and research, and development program planning. High level of attention to detail, critical thinking and analytical skills are desired.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop acceptance testing plans for nuclear plant inspection and maintenance tooling (automated and manually deployed)
- Perform hands on factory acceptance testing and on-site commissioning of nuclear plant inspection and maintenance tooling
- Investigate and troubleshoot tooling issues and develop design improvement recommendations.
- Provide on-site, in plant, support ensuring successful tooling implementation.
- Review nuclear power plant documents for information related to component degradation
- Analyze and summarize degradation information
- Aid in the preparation of engineering reports
- Provide input to the development of conceptual/detailed designs
- Perform basic structural analyses/evaluations
- Review or verify engineering reports and technical documentation
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, systems, mechatronics, civil, electrical or chemical engineering
- Ability to perform tasks in a thoughtful, conscientious manner under the supervision of a Senior Engineer
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to analyze data and generate reports and presentations
- Ability to function in a fast-paced hands-on environment supporting critical work in nuclear power plants.
- Able to gain security clearance to Nuclear Facilities
Assets:
- Knowledge of SolidWorks, coding, and advanced excel functionality
