Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Junior Designer/Design Assistant to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a variety of commercial and residential interior design projects while supporting senior designers throughout all phases of the design process.

The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and eager to learn. They are able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and take pride in keeping projects organized and on track. We are looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to take initiative when supporting project needs.

Responsibilities include assisting senior designers with drawing production, specification preparation, project documentation, coordination with suppliers and consultants, procurement support and administrative project tasks. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are well-organized, accurately documented, and executed efficiently.

A foundation in interior design, previous industry experience, proficiency with industry-standard software, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with documenting client selections, specifications, and project information using Google Sheets and other project management tools.
  • Develop and revise CAD drawings, floor plans, elevations, and construction documentation under the direction of senior designers.
  • Assist in the production of 3D visualizations and renderings using SketchUp.
  • Develop mood boards, finish palettes, and client presentation materials using Google Slides.
  • Source finishes, furnishings, fixtures, materials, and products as directed by senior designers.
  • Request, organize, and maintain product information, samples, lead times, and technical documentation from suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Support procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, tracking orders, and coordinating deliveries.
  • Perform general administrative and project support duties as required to assist the design team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD LT.
  • Proficiency in SketchUp.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Google Workspace platform, including Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs.
  • Understanding of visual design principles, layout, and presentation development.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while taking direction and feedback from senior designers.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with commercial and/or residential interior design is considered an asset.

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
