Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Jobs in Nisku at Ascent Transport
Overview: Ascent Transport is looking for Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic at our Nisku shop. The successful candidates responsibilities include repairing and maintaining gas and diesel engines and heavy-duty construction equipment. Regular maintenance services, CVIP inspections, and trailer repair will be part of regular routines.
Duties: Including but not limited to;
- Performing diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on internal fleet of highway trucks and trailers.
- CVIP inspections.
- Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities.
- Open and close work orders as required.
- Testing and inspecting vehicles to ensure repairs are completed to manufacturer specifications and Government standards.
- Perform related work as required.
Qualifications:
- H.E.T. Journeyman’s certificate with Red Seal. Will consider a H.E.T. On-Highway Journeyman with Red Seal.
- 3 years’ experience as a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
- Possess valid class 5 driver’s license. *(Class 1 or 3 -with airbrakes considered an asset).
- Acceptable Drivers Abstract *(Personal & Commercial)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient with MS Office applications and basic computer functions.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
