Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations.
- Test electrical circuits with tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
- Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high voltage equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and other trades to coordinate installation activities on construction sites.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems during various project phases to ensure compliance with NEC standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports, inspection logs, and as-built drawings.
Skills
- Extensive experience working as a residential, industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex wiring projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC standards, low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and safety procedures.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics related to automation systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as testing equipment like ohmmeters.
- Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments while maintaining safety standards.
- Skilled in frame carpentry basics and handyman tasks that support electrical installations or repairs when needed. Pay: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour
