Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Jewelry CAD Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming creative concepts and hand sketches into precise 3D models ready for production. You will play a vital role in our design process, ensuring that every piece meets our high standards for technical accuracy and aesthetic beauty, particularly when working with high-purity gold and intricate custom designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models using industry-standard software (e.g., MatrixGold, Rhino, or JewelCAD).
- Develop designs based on sketches, photos, or verbal descriptions provided by the design team or customers.
- Ensure all models are technically sound for manufacturing, including proper wall thickness, stone seatings, and shrinkage allowances.
- Prepare and export STL files for 3D printing/wax casting.
- Collaborate with bench jewelers and production staff to troubleshoot design challenges and ensure a seamless transition from digital model to finished piece.
- Provide realistic digital renders for client presentations and marketing materials.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in jewelry CAD design.
- Technical Skills: Mastery of Rhino, Matrix/MatrixGold, or similar jewelry-specific CAD software.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes, including casting, stone setting, and assembly.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to create precise measurements and work within tight tolerances.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of styles, from traditional bridal to modern statement pieces.
- Bonus: Experience with 3D printing technology and jewelry rendering software (e.g., KeyShot).
