Full job description
The Custodian maintains the cleanliness of the facility, property and/or grounds in compliance with applicable standards. The incumbent makes minor repairs and provides access to the facility as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, dusting, collects and disposes of garbage, vacuums
Checks, cleans, moves, arranges and dusts furniture as required
Ensures the general upkeep of external property such as keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice, cleaning main floor outside windows, picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks, gardening/watering and pruning shrubs
Restocks washroom supplies and distributes received material as required
Spot washes accessible walls
Organizes own work with some flexibility to choose alternative sequence of tasks based on the current circumstances
Supports thrift store staff in heavy lifting, garbage, and recycling
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma
No experience needed
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
Typical working location for this position is in the entire facility and property designated
The performance of the job requires mopping/sweeping, bending/twisting/lifting, occasional ladder work and fine motor skills
The incumbent is required to lift more than 20 pounds and applying over 40 lbs of force
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
Background check consent.
A clear vulnerable sector screening.
A clean drivers abstract.
Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
