We are currently seeking an IT Operations Specialist to join our Technology team.

Reporting to the Manager of IT Operations and supporting our Vancouver office on a full-time basis, you will focus on helping us succeed in our mission to manage day-to-day technology needs to ensure the business’s stability, reliability, and availability of applications, infrastructure, and services. This multifaceted position involves supporting staff with hardware and software needs, aiding the largest online community of small-cap investors in Canada, and collaborating across all company departments.
Alongside traditional support tasks, you’ll contribute to bug ticket triaging, business process improvements, and data fixes using SQL tools. This position is a good fit for someone who likes to wear many hats and enjoys playing with technology.

Accountabilities:

Strong focus on providing service to all in-office and remote staff requiring technical assistance.

Be available for on-call support for any technology-related emergencies 24/7/365.

Flex some hours on evenings and weekends for critical issues and technology rollout.

Respond to and prioritize all public support tickets, assess and write bug reports, and coordinate internal escalation until resolution.

Resolution of data issues using SQL tools to update records.

Engage in proactive processes to address ongoing data quality issues.

Escalate and coordinate technical and data issues with vendors until resolved.

Monitor website issues, escalate problems to IT, and communicate status to staff.

In coordination with the Operations Manager, configure and deliver business process improvement projects.

Deliver weekly and monthly reporting of service benchmarks.

Maintain documentation and training materials in the online Knowledgebase.

Qualifications:

At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience and or certification with supporting Windows and Mac workstations.

Meticulous attention to detail, and high level of accuracy with data processing.

Strong sense of ownership, accountability, persistence, and follow-through.

Comfortable juggling conflicting priorities.

Enthusiastic nature with positive attitude.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing.

Great to have: SQL skills; Knowledge of AWS managed services; Skills in HTML markup creation/review.
