Who we need
As an Intern, Medical Underwriting Administrator, you will play an active role in supporting the underwriting process by assisting in the review and assessment of insurance applications. You will be involved in gathering and analyzing sensitive medical information, including conducting medical telephone interviews with clients, and applying this information in accordance with underwriting guidelines and manuals.
You will also contribute to the day-to-day operations of the underwriting team by providing administrative and operational support while delivering a high standard of professionalism in all interactions.
The base salary range for this position is between CAD $20 and CAD $22 per hour, depending on experience. Details of our additional benefits are outlined below.
This job posting is for an existing vacancy. Only one position is available; however, it may be based in multiple locations.
What you will do
- Prepare and organize new underwriting files;
- Conduct medical telephone interviews with clients while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism;
- Support underwriters with telephone scripts and daily operational tasks;
- Order required medical documentation and requirements;
- Handle email inquiries in a timely and professional manner;
- Contact clients as needed to follow up on file requirements;
- Assist with additional administrative and operational tasks as required.

- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education;
- Strong time management and organizational skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities;
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality;
