Why You?
We are looking for adynamicandcollaborativeindividual to join our Planning Team! Directly in line with the Town of Innisfil’s Strategic Plan 2030, you will take a “Community First” approach to processing and leading a range of policy planning projects which will include supporting the Town’s first ever Transit Master Plan. With an emphasis on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and mobility/transportation planning, you will also be responsible for:
Planning and executing planning projects that span all areas of transportation planning including the Transit Master Plan, secondary planning, development application review, and preparing accompanying staff reports and recommendations to Council.
Streetscape/public realm design, and public transit planning/design.
Leading various public and stakeholder consultation processes; presenting at Public Meetings, Council Meetings, and at the Ontario Land Tribunal, as required.
Developing and implementing short and long-term strategies, goals, and objectives for mobility, transit and transportation initiatives based on an understanding of local, regional, and national transportation needs and trends.
Job Requirements
The preferred candidate holds:
A University Degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Geography or Transportation Engineering.
A minimum of 4-6 years progressive experience in a public transit, transportation planning or land use planning environment.
Full membership of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
A valid Class “G” driver’s license and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
Availability to attend evening meetings or other events, if necessary.
