CanNorth is seeking a talented intermediate risk assessment team member with at least 5 years experience to work with our innovative team in Markham, Ontario. Responsibilities in this position will include:

Completing risk assessment data management and analysis
Conduct scientific literature searches and compilation of information
Complete screening/qualitative reports
Assist in simple cost estimates and proposals
Preparation of technical reports
Developing clear language materials, reports and presentations.

Requirements in this position would include:

Human and ecological risk assessment, including data review, exposure assessment, and risk characterization
Working both independently and as part of a team
Quantitative analyses
Technical writing, research skills, and effective communication
Data analysis, statistics, and use of advanced functions in Excel
Experience with conducting O. Reg 153/04 assessments
Familiarity with the federal risk assessment process would be beneficial
Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

A Master’s degree in engineering (chemical or environmental) or environmental science is preferred. However, individuals with strong skills in chemistry or toxicology would also be considered to fill the position. To be successful you must have superior written and verbal communication skills, good time management, strong computer abilities, and be dedicated to high-quality results using creative thinking to find solutions to complex problems.
