Duties
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and install glass panels, mirrors, and related fixtures according to project specifications and blueprints
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to perform precise installations on-site
- Read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement and fit of glass components
- Perform heavy lifting of glass sheets and framing materials while adhering to safety protocols
- Install window frames, door hanging systems, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, cabinetry, and fixtures as required for remodeling or new construction projects
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure weatherproofing and energy efficiency of installations
- Conduct site assessments to determine material needs, prepare surfaces through construction painting or metal stud framing, and coordinate with other trades such as carpentry or handyman teams for seamless project execution
Experience
- Proven experience in glass installation within construction or remodeling environments
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, screwdrivers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and fabrication equipment
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes for material needs and project timelines
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Background in construction site experience including framing, drywall installation, or remodeling projects
- Knowledge of schematics for fixture installation or cabinetry assembly is a plus
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces; familiarity with safety protocols is essential
- Handyman experience or general construction painting skills are advantageous for versatile project support
