Position Overview
Big C Lumber in Delton, MI is seeking an Inside Sales/Estimating Associate for a full time, day shift position with benefits. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, and being part of a collaborative team environment. Prior basic construction experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Building material sales to professional builders, remodelers, and DIYers
- Place and track special orders
- Coordinate deliveries
- Prepare quotes
- Troubleshoot customer problems
- Maintain showroom
- Process cash and credit card transactions
- Pull store items for customer pickup and delivery
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, coworkers, and management
- Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the General Manager
Qualifications
- Knowledge of building materials and basic construction
- Post-frame construction knowledge is a plus (not required)
- Basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs occasionally
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to coordinate tasks effectively
- Willingness to learn and adapt to in-house software systems
