About the Role

A leading Canadian financial institution is expanding its Financial Risk Strategy & Enablement team to support major upcoming initiatives. We are seeking a senior Business Information Management Analyst to play a critical role in advancing the organization’s risk data, technology strategy, and operating model.

This role sits at the intersection of financial risk, data, and technology, supporting day‑to‑day risk operations while helping shape long‑term strategy and enterprise roadmaps.

Key Details

  • Contract Duration: 12 months (extension and conversion possible)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours
  • Work Model: Hybrid (2 days onsite currently; may increase to 3+ days)
  • Location: Toronto
  • Training Period: 2–3 weeks

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support business analysis and requirements gathering across multiple risk initiatives
  • Work extensively with data across credit risk, market risk, and reference data domains
  • Translate business, regulatory, and reporting requirements into clear data and solution requirements
  • Partner with Risk Management, Lines of Business, and Technology stakeholders to enable data integration and analytics
  • Identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and scalability within Risk processes
  • Support Risk Data Factory initiatives, centralizing and curating data on Azure for reporting and analytics
  • Develop and execute change management and stakeholder communication plans
  • Provide project updates, insights, and recommendations to Risk Leadership
  • Assess assumptions, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans across initiatives

Must‑Have Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Banking / Financial Services (Capital Markets, Core Banking, or Consulting)
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
  • Strong understanding of financial risk management practices
  • Deep knowledge of credit risk (preferred) and market risk data domains, including complex client structures and hierarchies
  • Proven experience leading change initiatives using Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Hands‑on experience as a Business Analyst / Data Analyst supporting data integrity, normalization, and operationalization
  • Strong understanding of reference data sets and business rules
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, Visio, and SQL Server
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience across lending, trading, collateral management, banking book, or risk mitigation
  • Exposure to Azure services (Databricks, Synapse, Unity Catalog)
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, or similar analytics tools
  • Testing and change management experience
