Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Operate airless paint spraying equipment and other application tools to apply coatings evenly on large metal structures or fabricated parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments and basic math skills to verify dimensions and ensure proper coating coverage.
- Handle materials safely with forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery to transport raw materials and finished products within the warehouse or fabrication area.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of waste properly, and adhering to safety protocols in manufacturing settings.
- Collaborate with fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly teams to coordinate project timelines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, airless spray systems, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, and materials handling.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment safely; forklift certification is a plus.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, and project specifications.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction on the shop floor.
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling in a production environment is advantageous.
