Position Summary:
Florida Beef, Inc. is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support our plant operations. This role requires hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and have strong troubleshooting abilities in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial electrical systems, components, and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred).
- Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot VFDs and motor control systems.
- Perform regular preventive and predictive electrical maintenance.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and support plant efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in electrical/electronics technology preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and logic tracing.
- Experience with VFDs, motor starters, control panels, and three-phase systems.
- Ability to work with low and high voltage systems safely.
- Proficiency with electrical meters, diagnostic tools, and basic hand tools.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment (climbing ladders, confined spaces, exposure to heat/cold).
- Food or meat processing industry experience is a plus but not required.
