In-Store Baker / Prep Cook Jobs in Banff at The Uprising Bake Shop + Espresso Bar
The Uprising Bake Shop + Espresso Bar is on the lookout for an experienced, reliable, and conscientious in-store Baker / Prep Cook for its Banff Bake Shop + Espresso Bar. This is a day-time food preparation role. To apply, applicants are asked to please ensure they can show previous experience successfully working within hospitality & catering positions with a high proficiency for food safety and effective produce management.
The ideal candidate for this position will enjoy working in a dynamic, locally-owned bakery / coffee shop environment, able to work well independently and adapt to demands of the Bake Shop. They will be tasked with preparing a selection of sweet and savoury pastries, lunch items and sandwiches on-site – and be responsible for keeping the food counter displays replenished and well-presented throughout their shift, and maintaining a clean workspace at all times.
Key responsibilities of the role :
– produce a high volume of sandwiches on-site, maintaining an always-excellent quality and to company specifications; bake off fresh croissants, pastries and other baked goods in-store; prepare garnishes
– create and maintain an attractive, clean and well-presented food counter of sweet and savoury bakery products – to company guidelines
– keep a clean, sanitary and well-organised work station at all times
– support the Bake Shop service team by assisting customers and working the POS system, during busier periods; taking orders and ensuring customer satisfaction
– cleaning all areas of the Bake Shop as required, and restocking supplies
– working with the Bake Shop Supervisor to monitor raw ingredient levels
The ideal candidate will have :
– a positive attitude and pride in their work
– previous culinary / baking / food preparation experience
– flexibility to work morning shifts, including weekends
– the ability to work effectively in a team, as well as independently; solutions-based
– a valid Canadian work visa
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual, Seasonal
Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 44 per week
