Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for providing Human Resources consultation to client groups in Employee Relations/Engagement, Compliance, Recruitment & Selection, Health and Safety, Performance Management, and Culture Building. The role also ensures the communication and consistent application of company policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and consultation to Management in employee relations, performance management, salary and performance review, corrective action and documentation, coaching and development, and policy/legislation awareness.
  • Actively participate in the department’s strategic plan by providing input and consultation on HR issues.
  • Ensure effective administration of employee records and HRIS; WSIB, WCB claims management; compensation; and other employment programs.
  • Provide consultative support in performance management and corrective action.
  • Advise on legislative changes and trends in HR; ensure legal compliance with provincial employment legislation and HR policy; and ensure consistent and fair application.
  • Implement policy changes.
  • Provide guidance and support for acquisition activity related to the integration of employees, HR systems, and HR processes.
  • Ensure a positive employee relations climate by developing policies and programs to improve satisfaction and resolving employee issues through open‑door and counseling techniques.
  • Promote the Our Way culture by attending start‑up meetings, general meetings, and culture‑related activities as required.
  • Promote participation in the EOS and ensure sites create action plans around results.
  • Implement recognition and reward initiatives to improve engagement.
  • Provide administrative support for salary adjustments, promotions, transfer, leave of absences, and terminations.
  • In collaboration with the Recruitment team, implement inclusive recruitment strategies tailored to business needs.
  • Support sourcing and screening of candidates, conduct interviews, check references, complete background checks, and prepare offer letters.
  • Respond to HR questions as requested via the company’s website.

Experience

  • 4–7 years of experience in Human Resources.

Education

  • Post‑secondary education/certification in Human Resources preferred.
  • Certification in Human Resources (CHRP) is an asset.

Travel

This role is 100% based in Elora with some travel to Mississauga as needed.
