The HR Business Partner is the first point of support with all levels in the organization to align people strategies with organizational goals. This role provides strategic and operational HR advice, recommendations, plans for process and best practice, and adherence to policy in all functions of the HR Life cycle. The HRBP is a trusted advisor, influencing required changes as the HR function evolves to meet growth targets and supports the Director, HR across functions to provide input on key performance metrics and changes that enable strategic and operational best practice delivery.

What you will do

  • Leadership and Change Influence
  • Partner with business leaders to understand workforce needs and lead the development of HR plans to deliver the right business outcomes, including partnering to develop the people change plans required.
  • Effectively partner on talent attraction and retention processes including recruitment planning, hiring and onboarding, performance development reviews, and leadership development, in alignment with the workforce plan actions.
  • Effective advice and influence required changes for people leaders on employee relations matters, performance issues, coaching, and conflict resolution, including handling investigations and resolution, with proper risk assessments completed to maintain a culture of inclusion and transparency for all.
  • Utilizing client feedback and HR metrics, partner with the HR team and key change influencers to drive employee engagement, culture initiatives, and retention strategies.
  • Compliance, Policies, Processes and Systems excellence
  • Lead and effectively partner on organizational change initiatives, restructures, and transformation projects, including providing inputs to systems requirements for automation and AI.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and HR best practices for processes.
  • Partner with centers of excellence in total rewards, learning and development, and talent acquisition in alignment with ensuring policies, processes and best practice support a culture of high performance.
  • Contribute to policy development, process improvement, and HR projects across the business in alignment with the HR Operations Manager.
  • Financial delivery
  • Ensure alignment with FP&A in workforce plan budgets.
  • Ensure projects, including change plans, are appropriately budgeted

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HRBP, preferably in an Engineering, Architecture or Construction environment
  • Professional HR certification (CHRP)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in Workforce planning and change models

Skills Required

  • Strong working knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and employee relations practices
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong business acumen, including understanding financial reporting for HR metrics, budgets and actuals review on workforce plans
  • Excellent engagement, influencing, and coaching skills to drive a culture of high performance, inclusion and transparency
  • Strong working knowledge of risk assessment approaches to problem-solving, investigations and conflict-resolution
  • Analytical skills to interpret HR metrics and data with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Demonstrated working knowledge creating and managing project management and change management plans, including providing cost estimates for inclusion in annual budgets
  • Ability to balance risk to make recommendations with changes required to deliver optimized outcomes
  • Ability to learn from Director, HR and develop own skills to support back up of Director, HR on operational issues
  • Demonstrated experience creating and presenting, utilizing Microsoft tools
