Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Administrator to join our team in an on-site role located in Markham, ON. The Human Resources Administrator will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR functions, including benefits administration, HR records management, and compliance with labor and employment laws. You will provide support for employee onboarding, HRIS updates, and policies, ensuring smooth HR operations and promoting a positive work environment. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with employee relations, and organizational development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management with a strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes
- Experience in Benefits Administration, including benefits enrollment and compliance
- Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and related tools
- Familiarity with Labor and Employment Law to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CHRL) is an asset
What You Will Do
- Support managers across HR processes including performance management, labour relations, and absence management
- Manage employee records, assignments, and project transitions
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes (equipment, access, documentation)
- Track and administer employee allowances and HR documentation
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee HR inquiries (benefits, policies)
- Assist with recruitment (scheduling interviews, reference checks, and co-op hiring)
- Maintain and update HRIS systems and employee files
- Support HR reporting and analytics (headcount, turnover, absenteeism, etc.)
- Coordinate training, employee engagement initiatives, and HR programs
- Organize orientations, HR events, and internal communications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth HR operations
What You Bring
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources or related field
- 1–3 years of HR administration experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Problem-solving mindset and adaptability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with HRIS systems (SAP or similar is an asset)
- Team-oriented with a strong client-service focus
Salary Range
$50,000 – $65,000 per annum
