HR Generalist – Recruitment Focus

Position Summary

The HR Generalist, Recruitment plays a key role in attracting, hiring, and retaining talent to support operational excellence across the organization. This position leads full-cycle recruitment while providing comprehensive HR generalist support aligned with company values, policies, and culture. The role partners closely with company leaders to deliver skilled, engaged, and culturally aligned team members within a diverse and inclusive environment.

You will work closely with the HR Business Partner and Director HR in a collegial environment where we build trust and help shape tomorrow. This position reports to the Director, Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities – Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (70%)

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and various salaried roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define hiring needs, job requirements, and staffing plans.
  • Create and publish job postings across appropriate sourcing channels to attract qualified candidates.
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates to ensure role, cultural, and values fit.
  • Coordinate interviews, reference checks, offers, and onboarding processes.
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for current and future workforce needs.
  • Track recruitment metrics and provide regular reporting and insights.
  • Develop proactive recruitment strategies in collaboration with various stakeholders beyond job postings.
  • Represent the company at recruitment events and career fairs.
  • Support the Director of HR, HR Business Partner, and leadership across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate internally with hiring managers, Sales Managers, Payroll, and the Health and Safety team.

Key Responsibilities – HR Generalist Support (30%)

  • Support employee onboarding, orientation, and probationary follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, and employment equity principles.
  • Administer onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Advise leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support benefits administration, leave management, and employee inquiries.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Actively contribute to a Safety-First culture by championing and enforcing all safety-related initiatives.
  • Configure and maintain the ATS for all assigned roles.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience with a strong focus on recruitment.
