Human Resources Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of our HR function. Reporting to the HR Generalist, this role plays a key part in benefits and payroll administration, recruitment, health and safety, employee relations, and overall HR support.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration

  • Provide daily administrative and operational support to the HR department
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure data integrity
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing HR data and trends
  • Support the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Create and distribute internal communications (e.g., employment letters, performance notices)
  • Assist with departmental and company-wide initiatives and special projects

Payroll & Benefits

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and perform time-sheet reconciliation
  • Support benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries
  • Conduct audits related to payroll, benefits, and HR programs

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling
  • Support onboarding activities, including orientation and training coordination
  • Maintain and utilize HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) effectively

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Support and promote compliance with OHSA and company health and safety policies
  • Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
  • Stay up to date on employment legislation and ensure organizational compliance

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Support employee relations initiatives and engagement programs
  • Assist in organizing internal training and development sessions
  • Collaborate with teams to support achievement of organizational goals

General Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Payroll, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HR and/or payroll (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, including Human Rights, Employment Standards, Health & Safety, and Pay Equity
  • Experience with HRIS/ATS systems (e.g., Payworks, ADP, Dayforce, BambooHR) is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment to continuous learning
