NSB Omega is searching for an HR Advisor/Generalist for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.
Assignment Description
We are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor / HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive HR support across employee relations, recruitment, performance management, policy administration, employee engagement, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and workplace issues.
Investigate and resolve employee relations matters in a fair, timely, and confidential manner.
Support conflict resolution, workplace accommodations, and performance improvement initiatives.
Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and reference checks.
Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
Facilitate onboarding programs to ensure a positive employee experience and successful integration.
Performance Management
Support performance review processes and goal-setting initiatives.
Coach managers on performance management best practices.
Assist with employee development plans and succession planning activities.
HR Programs & Administration
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Support leave management, accommodation processes, and employee lifecycle activities.
Prepare HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics.
Compliance & Policy Development
Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and organizational policies.
Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating HR policies and procedures.
Stay informed on changes to employment laws and HR best practices.
Employee Engagement & Culture
Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
Participate in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives.
Contribute to organizational culture and change management efforts.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
3–5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or advisory capacity.
Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
Experience handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), or equivalent designation.
Experience supporting multiple business units or locations.
Knowledge of compensation, benefits, and workforce planning practices.
