Basic Purpose:
Under the direction of the Rooms Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for delivering on the guest experience promise throughout the entire facility. The individual will be instrumental in supporting good public and employee relations.
Major Responsibilities and Duties (to fulfill major purpose):
1. Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the housekeeping, laundry and janitorial teams.
2. Develop a strong team of associates through effective leadership.
3. Deliver excellent and prompt guest service.
4. Responsible for guest corridors, rooms, and other specific areas of the hotel as assigned.
5. Daily auditing of Housekeeping Services Agents to ensure SilverBirch standards are consistently met.
6. Performance management of assigned associates; including training and coaching in accordance with policies, procedures and standards.
7. Proactively address any day-to-day operational concerns, determining appropriate solutions and action to be taken.
8. Comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, while ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
9. Actively participate in the hotel health and safety program. Ensure that all associates are familiar with and in compliance with WHMIS and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
10. Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required.
11. Assume duties of Housekeeping Manager in her/his absence.
12. Other related duties and projects as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Excellent guest service orientation.
Highly organized and detail oriented with a passion for cleanliness.
Works well under pressure and without supervision.
Able to perform well in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong teamwork skills.
Ability to motivate, train and develop team members.
Working Conditions:
Must be physically fit and able to push, pull, and lift up to 40 lbs. and to bend and kneel with comfort.
Fast paced environment that is often demanding.
Stand, walk and remain on feet to perform job duties for entire shift duration.
Use of cleaning chemicals.
Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):
Must have at least 2-3 years of Housekeeping experience
1 years previous supervisory and/or training experience.
·Experience with Property Management systems and Microsoft Office.
High school diploma required
