Housekeeper – Summer Season Jobs in Naramata at Naramata Centre Society
On the shores of Okanagan Lake, among vineyards and orchards, in the heart of the village of Naramata, is The Naramata Centre, a place where people find an inclusive, welcoming spirit among shade-providing willows to reconnect with community, nature and spirit.
The Centre is looking for you, a caretaker who will be the heart of our retreat operation, taking care of our accommodations and retreat facilities. You will work in collaboration with a small team of other superhumans to provide a clean, safe and welcoming atmosphere at Naramata Centre to ensure everyone feels home the moment they arrive. The role
The key focus of our Caretaker role will involve:
Cleaning of one and two bedroom accommodations including bedrooms, shared kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas;
Dust, vacuum, wash floors, sanitize bathrooms, clean appliances, wash dishes, clean kitchen cupboards, and countertops, wipe down walls, sweep front and outside entry;
Ensure accommodations are “guest ready” including setting out towels, sheets and blankets;
Keep all bathrooms adequately stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other items as needed;
Wash linens, blankets, towels etc.;
Clean the campground laundry facilities including washrooms and fridges;
Remove trash and recycling neatly and carefully to appropriate bins and receptacles on premises and campgrounds;
Clean the Centers office administration building;
Respond to requests in a timely manner;
Report maintenance concerns or equipment failures to the Operations Manager;
Assist with ordering and inventorying cleaning and other supplies;
Attend staff meetings and occasional other meetings as requested;
Attend additional training as related to the position;
Other cleaning related tasks as assigned.
The Person
We are looking for:
Someone able to perform physical activities that require lifting, balancing, carrying and handling of materials;
Work experience (one year minimum) in housekeeping in a hospitality environment;
A great attention to details, understanding high cleaning standards;
Someone who works diligently and independently but also enjoys being part of a team;
A welcoming and pleasant personality;
Someone who understands and lives the Centres Values: Collaboration, Diversity, Integrity, Resilience and Reverence;
Willingness and ability to work long hours including evenings and weekends, as needed;
And
Someone who loves to be part of a community, where people of all generations are valued for who they are.
