Job Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting in all aspects of property maintenance to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members. This includes maintaining guest rooms, public areas, restaurant/bar spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
This position plays an important role in guest satisfaction by responding promptly to maintenance requests, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and helping maintain the overall appearance and operation of the property.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the hotel and its facilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance throughout the property
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general maintenance issues
- Complete repairs and maintenance work orders in a timely manner
- Maintain hotel equipment, guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
- Assist with painting, carpentry, drywall, and other general repair projects as needed
- Communicate effectively with department heads regarding maintenance needs and building conditions
- Support preventative maintenance and sustainability initiatives as directed
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest and staff maintenance concerns
- Maintain organized maintenance records and work orders
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and brand standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous hotel, facilities, or general maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete general repairs independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as needed
- Flexible schedule required, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional after-hours calls
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
