About Deane House
Built in 1906 for Captain Richard Deane, the Deane House is a historic landmark in Calgary’s trendy neighbourhood Inglewood. With a focus on seasonal and regional cuisine, the culinary team takes guests on an adventure through our culinary past and present. Sustainability and environmental mindfulness are top priority, carrying on a tradition of respect for product, our partners and the stories they tell.
Deane House is a full service, à la carte fine dining restaurant, open 6 days a week, with brunch offered on weekends. An 80 seat restaurant with a library and bar upstairs for private events, and a garden patio sitting up to 90 guests; an ideal space for weddings and other special occasions. We will strive to host our guests with impeccable tailored service, thoughtful detail, and genuine care.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Answer the telephone and take reservations in a polite and efficient manner
Manage online reservations to maximize the dining room and patio
Greet guests in an enthusiastic manner
Escort guests to their table and engage in polite conversation
Sincerely thank guests upon their departure
Knowledge of all table numbers and server section awareness
Maintain an efficient restaurant through managing guest flow
Assist in maintaining appearance of the dining room
Maintain cleanliness of entrance way and washrooms by completing regular checks throughout the shift
Complete all assigned opening and closing side duties
Assist with picnic basket orders, gift card purchases and special requests
Assist in dining room service where needed
Comply with Alberta Health Services and Occupational Health Services mandates and company protocols as they relate to Health and Safety.
Pre-Requisites
Proficient in our reservation system TOCK
1-2 years host experience or customer service experience an asset
Confident, outgoing personality
Ability to organize the restaurant floor and work calmly and efficiently within a larger team
Exceptional telephone skills
High standards to which you hold yourself first
Interested in local food and producers
Passion for the food and beverage industry
Keen eye for detail
Excellent communicator
Exceptional abilities in hospitality and guest experience
