Home Support Worker Jobs in Deer Lake at Compassion HomeCare
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to Office Manager and/or Service Coordinator (and/or Nursing Supervisor)
- Perform work for the care and comfort of clients including but not limited to bathing, feeding, toileting, cooking, etc. As outlined in the Client’s plan of care
- Attends to the personal hygiene needs of clients when required
- This includes but not limited to: Bathing (assistance or full care), toileting (assistance or full care), Hair care, teeth and mouth care, applying ointments, etc.
- Preparing and helping with meals as required
- Maintains a standard of hygiene for the client’s surroundings by preforming light housekeeping duties
- Observe any unusual behavior and report it to the supervisor
- Report any changes of client’s medical condition, admissions to hospital, and any changes in medication
- Report accidents/incidents/hazards for clients/employees to ensure a safe work environment
- Adheres to working alone policies using the clock in and out procedures
- Completes all documentation for client’s care including the client care flow sheets, caregiver notes, etc. Promptly (Either paper copy or through AlayaCare)
- Willingness to go with clients if needed to appointments or outings
- Attends/ completes all in-services
- Participates in mandatory performance appraisal reviews (annually)
- Performs nursing tasks only when authorized and under direction/supervision of company supervising registered Nurse
Prospective employees shall be screened by providing:
- Current / Satisfactory Letter of Conduct with vulnerability check (within 6 (six) months of date hired). A new letter of conduct with vulnerability check will be required every 3 years as per government regulations.
- Three (3) telephone references, with at least one (1) supervisor or manager. No personal references (No family or friends). Can use volunteer experience as a reference.
- Resume or application highlighting education qualification and or experiences.
