This job requires relocation to Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. A relocation allowance up to $5000.00 is provided for successful candidates.

Secondary Teacher: Tumbler Ridge Secondary School requires a 1.0 FTE TERM Teacher
Effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027
This position is for:
Teacher (0.625 FTE) for Humanities 7, Careers 8-10, Digital Literacy 8-9
Teacher Librarian (0.272 FTE)
Applicants will be considered based on the following criteria in order of preferred qualification:
- Completed a Master’s degree in Library Science/studies or related
- Currently enrolled in and working towards a Master’s program in Library Science/studies or related
- Completed a diploma or certificate in Library Science/studies or related
- Currently enrolled in and working towards a diploma or certificate in Library Science/studies or related
- Willing to enroll in and begin a Master’s degree in Library Science/studies or related upon acceptance of the position
- Willing to enroll in and begin a diploma or certificate in Library Science/studies or related upon acceptance of the position
- Willing to engage in coursework or training in this area

The Province of British Columbia has created a new incentive to support several school districts in filling postings across the province. This position is eligible for a pre-employment signing bonus of $10,000.00 in return for a successful candidate accepting a job offer for this position. This signing bonus is available for current British Columbia teaching certificate holders and for out of province teachers who are eligible for and pursuing a British Columbia teaching certificate.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students.
- Develop a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
- Participate in faculty meetings, parent conferences, and other school-related activities.
