This job requires relocation to Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. A relocation allowance up to $5000.00 is provided for successful candidates.

Only those currently living and eligible to work in Canada with current teaching certificates will be considered at this time.

Secondary Teacher: Tumbler Ridge Secondary School requires a 1.0 FTE TERM Teacher

Effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027

This position is for:

Teacher (0.625 FTE) for Humanities 7, Careers 8-10, Digital Literacy 8-9

Teacher Librarian (0.272 FTE)

Applicants will be considered based on the following criteria in order of preferred qualification:

  • Completed a Master’s degree in Library Science/studies or related
  • Currently enrolled in and working towards a Master’s program in Library Science/studies or related
  • Completed a diploma or certificate in Library Science/studies or related
  • Currently enrolled in and working towards a diploma or certificate in Library Science/studies or related
  • Willing to enroll in and begin a Master’s degree in Library Science/studies or related upon acceptance of the position
  • Willing to enroll in and begin a diploma or certificate in Library Science/studies or related upon acceptance of the position
  • Willing to engage in coursework or training in this area

The Province of British Columbia has created a new incentive to support several school districts in filling postings across the province. This position is eligible for a pre-employment signing bonus of $10,000.00 in return for a successful candidate accepting a job offer for this position. This signing bonus is available for current British Columbia teaching certificate holders and for out of province teachers who are eligible for and pursuing a British Columbia teaching certificate.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students.
  • Develop a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, parent conferences, and other school-related activities.

Pay: $79,903 – $127,251 per year
