Experienced Heavy Haul Transportation Dispatcher
Pay is commensurate with experience
Position plays a critical role in coordinating the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of heavy equipment, oversized loads, and construction materials. This position is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and tracking trucking operations while ensuring optimal fleet utilization, on-time deliveries to job sites.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch trucks and drivers for the movement of heavy construction equipment loads, and bulk materials to and from job sites, and yards.
- Coordinate daily transportation needs with project managers, superintendents, and equipment managers to prioritize loads and align with project schedules.
- Secure and manage oversize/overweight permits as required.
- Assist in the staffing of all CDL truck drivers, including coordination of driver availability and scheduling.
- Communicate clearly with drivers via phone, or dispatch software (Towbooks), providing load details, route instructions, delivery windows, and real-time updates.
· Monitor driver Hours of Service (HOS), vehicle status, and load progress to prevent delays and ensure regulatory compliance.

- Troubleshoot and resolve transportation issues, including delays, breakdowns, route changes, or permitting problems.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches, load confirmations, delivery times, permits, costs, and driver logs into the company’s transportation management system.
- Able to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.
Skills:
· Proficiency in GPS tracking and transportation management systems such as Towbooks.
· Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret transportation data for planning and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on clear, professional interaction via multi-line phone systems.
· Experience in dispatching & logistics.
· Strong typing and telephone skills.
· Knowledge of computers and Microsoft; word, excel, outlook.
· Ability to navigate and research using the internet.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, and possess strong follow-up skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.
An ideal applicant would have the following:
- Heavy Haul Transport background a must
- Preferably 2 + years in Heavy Haul Industry
- Have previous experience Towbooks
- Feel comfortable learning and using new programs
- Have previous knowledge of booking broker freight
Pay is commensurate with experience
Pay: $1.00 per hour
