Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy equipment in a mining, quarry, or construction environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices, reliability, and teamwork.
This position requires an individual who takes pride in their work, communicates effectively, performs daily equipment inspections, and is willing to assist with routine maintenance and general operational needs to keep production running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and other machinery as needed.
- Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections and complete required equipment reports each day.
- Perform basic service and maintenance tasks, including fueling, greasing, fluid checks, and minor repairs.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repair activities as needed to support daily operations.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and MSHA regulations at all times.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors, equipment operators, and ground personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Complete end-of-shift reports and communicate any equipment or operational concerns to management.
- Assist with general labor and other mining or construction duties when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, or similar machinery required.
- Strong commitment to safety, dependability, and quality workmanship.
- Ability to perform daily inspections and recognize mechanical issues before they become major problems.
- Willingness to perform light service and maintenance on equipment.
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations and certifications are preferred but not required.
- Mechanical experience, including changing gearboxes, bearings, conveyor belts, or other mining equipment components, is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
