We currently have a full-time opportunity with our Log Yard Team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering Cut–to-Length logs to the Sawmill and unloading log trucks utilizing mobile equipment. This position will report to the Greenside Team Leader.
Key Functions:
Operate and perform PM’s on log handling equipment consisting of mobile equipment.
Operating shift will be determined based on business needs.
Complete regular area maintenance (gravel & dirt work, snow removal, de-barker deck & area cleaning, etc.)
Shift schedule is weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6:00pm-6:00am).
Qualifications
Able to complete mobile equipment training
Able to lift 2-20 pounds regularly, and climb steps and ladders
Must have basic computer skills
Must be able to work independently as well as in a group
Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
Ability to work within a team setting
Able to perform basic math and use computers
Industrial or Manufacturing experience is a plus
Experience in a self-directed team environment is a plus
A resume detailing education and work history is required for consideration
A high school diploma or GED is required

Ability to meet all Team Norms and Standards with a clear focus on active participation in the Safety Program.
Physically able to perform the role.
Self-motivated with Demonstrated Leadership capabilities.
Strong aptitude for and experience in Log Handling and or heavy equipment operations.
Strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills (verbal & written).
Ability to prioritize and learn quickly.
Preference will be given to current heavy equipment operators with applicable skills.
Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment
Willingness to work a rotating shift, including nights and weekends as required
Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment
