Position Scope

NACG are seeking an experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road) with Service Truck (Partial Direct Service Provider) to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area.

Upon hire, you will be eligible for a$7500 Attraction Bonus. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.

For this role, NACG offers a combined gross rate of up to$74.54/houras well as room for growth! Truck rate is $36.50 (can increase to $45- based on truck and tooling) orFull Direct Service Providerflat rate is$135

Where You’ll Be Working

Site:
Suncor Top Shop

Schedule:

14 x 14, 12 hour days (paid for 11.5 hours). Days/Nights.

Accommodations:
Camp is not provided. $15 Living Out Allowance per hour.

Transportation:
Bussing is provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts).

Overtime:
Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week.

Note the above is only applicable to HET’s hired as a Partial Direct Service Provider, not if you are hired as a Direct Service Provider.

What You’ll Be Doing

Complete repairs on CAT/Komatsu/Hitachi equipment of all sizes.

Work closely with peers in both maintenance and operations.

Preventative Maintenance and servicing of all equipment.

Evaluate equipment performance and inspect to detect faults and malfunctions.

Trouble shooting systems – example: hydraulic, electrical & mechanical of all equipment and determine faults and extent of repair.

Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications.

Mobilization of equipment for maintenance and repair.

Develop work scopes and schedules for equipment to be repaired.

Order required repair parts, complete reports and fill out work orders.

Teach and evaluate apprentices and mentor Mechanics.

Follow NACG codes of practice and Safe Operating Procedures.

Other maintenance duties as assigned.

What Makes You The ONE

Minimum 2 years’ experience post Journeyman (Journeyperson) certification on large Haul Trucks/Dozers/Graders and Excavators.

Possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities.

Capable of working with minimal supervision.

Basic knowledge of computer applications.

Demonstrateleadershipskills in daily work interaction

A valid Alberta Journeyperson Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman (Journeyperson) Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician (Off Road).

Experience with Cat SIS is an asset.
