Domus Building Cleaning Company Ltd. is looking for qualified Heavy Duty Cleaners for an immediate position located within the Vanier area. Domus has been in operation for over 50 years with more than 500 employees in multiple provinces and has an excellent reputation as a janitorial services provider.
Competitive Wage Rate of $17.45 per hour to start.
This position is full-time, Monday to Friday, and will be from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
This position will require an enhanced level of Government Security Screening.
You will be required to have a 5-year living history within Canada and no significant time gaps to qualify for the position.
Main Responsibilities:
Must be knowledgeable in floor scrubbing and burnishing of floors
Clean assigned areas by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing floor surfaces in assigned areas by use of mechanized cleaning equipment wherever required
Collect and dispose of trash in garbage containers on a regular basis
Operate carpet machines of various types
Spot clean walls, ceilings, partitions, light switches, doors, and window sills
Wipe and sanitize all public utilities such as public phones, furniture, and door handles
Food Court experience a plus
Cleaning of washrooms, sanitizing, mopping, restocking of supplies as needed
Follow pre-set policies, guidelines, and rules to maintain a safe working environment
Other duties and responsibilities as required

Previous cleaning/janitorial experience an asset
Must be able to lift 40lbs plus on a regular basis
Must be able to communicate in English
Reliable
Legally allowed to work in Canada
Must live in the Ottawa/Gatineau region
