About the role

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen safety practices within a heavy industry environment. In this role, you will partner closely with operational teams to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and promote a strong safety culture across multiple sites.

You will play a key role in implementing safety programs, coaching teams, and ensuring adherence to legislative and organizational standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of health & safety and loss prevention systems
  • Provide on-site coaching and guidance to operational teams on safety standards and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation and internal policies
  • Assist in developing and maintaining safe work procedures, particularly for high-risk activities
  • Deliver safety training programs aligned with regulatory and organizational requirements
  • Support incident management, including claims coordination and return-to-work processes
  • Collaborate with relevant regulatory bodies on safety-related matters
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all operational areas
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Work closely with leadership to drive safety performance and continuous improvement

Your profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in health & safety within heavy industry
  • Experience working within regulated safety environments (e.g., CNESST)
  • Working toward or holding a CRSP (or equivalent) certification
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices
  • Experience delivering training and coaching teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Bilingual in French and English (required)
