About the role
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen safety practices within a heavy industry environment. In this role, you will partner closely with operational teams to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and promote a strong safety culture across multiple sites.
You will play a key role in implementing safety programs, coaching teams, and ensuring adherence to legislative and organizational standards.
Key responsibilities
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of health & safety and loss prevention systems
- Provide on-site coaching and guidance to operational teams on safety standards and compliance
- Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation and internal policies
- Assist in developing and maintaining safe work procedures, particularly for high-risk activities
- Deliver safety training programs aligned with regulatory and organizational requirements
- Support incident management, including claims coordination and return-to-work processes
- Collaborate with relevant regulatory bodies on safety-related matters
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all operational areas
- Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Work closely with leadership to drive safety performance and continuous improvement
Your profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- 5–7 years of experience in health & safety within heavy industry
- Experience working within regulated safety environments (e.g., CNESST)
- Working toward or holding a CRSP (or equivalent) certification
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices
- Experience delivering training and coaching teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bilingual in French and English (required)
