About the Role
We are hiring a Head Chef / Kitchen Operations Lead to take ownership of a fast-paced South Indian kitchen.
This role is ideal for someone who:
Has strong kitchen experience and wants to step into leadership
Enjoys building systems, improving efficiency, and training teams
Can balance hands-on cooking with team management
This is not a passive management role — you will be actively involved in the kitchen while leading the team.
Key Responsibilities
-Oversee daily kitchen operations (prep, service, closing)
-Build and enforce simple, repeatable SOPs
-Train and manage line cooks and prep staff
-Improve speed and consistency during peak hours
-Maintain food quality and portion control
-Help optimize labour scheduling and reduce inefficiencies
-Step on the line when needed (especially during rush)
Requirements
-Previous kitchen experience required
Experience leading or training team members preferred
-Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
-Strong work ethic and reliability
-Willing to take ownership and accountability
Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)
-South Indian cuisine experience (dosa, chutneys, prep systems)
-Experience in fast-casual or high-volume kitchens
We are open to candidates from different cuisines who can learn quickly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
