Position Summary:

The Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for creating a positive work environment while maximizing hotel occupancy and rate, and maintaining high customer service standards.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures superior & efficient customer service levels are maintained by the front office team;
  • Manages day-to-day business requirements of operation & focuses on future business levels to ensure staffing levels are optimized at peak periods;
  • Ensures all guest issues are dealt with in a professional & timely manner;
  • Ensures a safe & working environment is maintained at all times;
  • Maintaining a favourable working relationship with all other departments to foster and promote a cooperative & harmonious working environment;
  • Promotes & encourages inter-departmental cooperation & communication to ensure overall guest satisfaction is at an optimum;
  • Effectively manages labor costs & departmental productivity results to budget meanwhile providing the utmost in guest service & experience;
  • Participates in departmental meetings & outside hotel events when required;
  • Develops strong relations with other departments to ensure high level of customer satisfaction & is able to manage the individuals within those departments in the absence of the department manager;
  • Assists with recruiting process; interviews, selection & training team members;
  • Ensures front office team members are well trained & prepared with sufficient supplies to do their jobs successfully;
  • Completes front office administration (i.e. payroll, scheduling, etc.), documentation and reports as required;
  • Prepare budgets & monitor revenues and expenses;
  • Perform Guest Services Representative duties as required including checking in and out of guests, switchboard and reservation duties & responsibilities;
  • Ensures all company standards, policies and procedures are maintained;
  • Oversee emergency situations and ensure all emergency & evacuation procedures are followed to ensure guest & employee safety;
  • Perform all Manager on Duty tasks & responsibilities;
  • Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the General Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in hotel management is required;
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in Front Office;
  • Current First Aid & CPR;
  • Highly organized, with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure;
  • Knowledge of Opera, Micros and Microsoft Office is an asset;
  • Required to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings & holidays wherever required;
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal & communication skills;
  • Excellent listening & guest service skills;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Proven ability to lead & motivate colleagues.

Pay: $40,000.00-$44,000.00 per year
