Full job description
The Beacon Inn at Sidneyis an award winning, 9-room Inn located in downtown Sidney and we’re looking for a mature, energetic individual to join our small team as a Guest Services Representative. This position will be part-time to start (3 days/week) leading to full-time in July (5 days/week) to replace a departing staff member. Shifts are 11:30am – 8pm, availability weekends and holidays is a must.
Working in a home-like setting, the ideal candidate is someone that enjoys variety in their workday, is a self-starter with strong customer service and multi-tasking skills, is computer literate, has strong attention to detail, works well independently, without supervision and enjoys pitching in wherever needed to get the job done. We are a 3-storey walk-up building (no elevator) so you must be physically fit and able to negotiate stairs.
Primary Duties:include, but are not limited to the following: Taking reservations over the phone, online and in person, managing online inventory, responding to enquiries, checking-in guests and taking payment, inspecting guestrooms after housekeeping, assisting with laundry whenever needed, assembling and distributing up to 9 continental-style breakfast baskets for guestrooms.

Current references are required. This position is ideally suited to someone who lives on the Saanich Peninsula with access to reliable transportation. Prior experience in a similar setting would be beneficial, however we will train the right individual.
Compensation:$20 per hour to start, Extended Health and Dental benefits after 3 months, Friends & Family rates, tip pool.
