Overview

Lafarge Canada Inc., operating in Prince George is currently seeking applications for an experienced full-time seasonal Groundsperson.

We currently employ approximately 30 staff, servicing municipal, commercial, residential and provincial asphalt paving markets. We offer a safe work environment, on the job training, up to date well-kept equipment and room for advancement.

TheGroundspersonwill carry out scheduled ground maintenance work. In this role, you will report to the Aggregates Production Lead Hand and will work co-operatively with the aggregates team.

Responsibilities

Perform several types of manual work.

Handle materials, tools, and equipment.

Operate automotive vehicles and small mobile equipment such as a skid steer when required.

Shovel spillage around conveyors.

Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment.

Seek out and implement Best Practices.

Create an atmosphere of teamwork and ensure the development of personnel and arbitrate to resolve conflicts.

Identify and communicate product problems and information.

Specifics accountabilities:

Ensure safety goals are achieved.

Comply with all company safety rules.

Qualifications

Capable of working in an outdoor environment year round.

A positive and proactive attitude towards teamwork and safety.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge in general maintenance work.

Compensation:

Hourly wage: $30 – $40 depending on experience.
