Position Summary

The Grounds and Decorating Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the aesthetic appeal and atmosphere of our multi-site resort by ensuring the resort’s grounds are maintained in a tidy and visually appealing manner, and orchestrating captivating decorations for various celebrations, events, and holidays throughout the year. Working closely with the Director of Golf and Infrastructure and collaborating with different departments, the Grounds and Decorating Coordinator ensures that the resort’s interior and exterior spaces are well maintained and beautifully adorned, reflecting the spirit of each occasion and enhancing guest experiences.

Pay for this position is $21-$23 per hour.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Grounds Assistance:

As directed by the Director of Golf and Infrastructure, assist with general maintenance of the resort’s grounds, across all locations. This may include any or all of the following:

o Snow removal

o Watering

o Weeding

o Planting

o Mowing

o Mulching, and any other activity as directed.

2. Decoration Planning:

Collaborate with the Director of Golf and Infrastructure to develop comprehensive decorating plans for each celebration, event, and holiday.

Research and gather creative ideas, themes, and trends suitable for the resort environment.

Develop budgets, timelines, and schedules for decorating projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.

3. Execution and Installation:

Coordinate the procurement of necessary materials, decorations, and supplies.

Oversee the setup, installation, and removal of decorations across multiple resort sites.

Ensure all decorations are safely and securely installed, adhering to relevant safety standards and regulations.

4. Team Oversight:

Supervise a team of internal staff as when they are assigned to assist with any decorating activity.

Delegate tasks effectively, providing clear instructions and guidance to ensure successful execution.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging creativity and teamwork.

5. Quality Assurance:

Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of decorations.

Address any issues or concerns promptly, making necessary adjustments or improvements as needed.

Maintain inventory records and track the condition of decorations, facilitating timely repair or replacement.

6. Communication and Coordination:

Liaise with various other departments as relevant, including Maintenance, Guest Services, and Employee Experience, to coordinate decorating activities seamlessly.

Communicate with external vendors and suppliers to procure specialized decorations or services.

Provide updates and reports to the Director of Golf and Infrastructure on project status, budgetary concerns, and any relevant issues.

7. Health and Safety Compliance:

Prioritize the safety of guests, staff, and property by ensuring all decorating activities adhere to relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Conduct thorough risk assessments for decorating installations, identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.

Provide comprehensive training to staff on safe handling, installation, and removal techniques for decorations and equipment.
