Position Overview
Our Groomers deliver professional, high-quality grooming services while ensuring every pet’s comfort, safety, and well-being. This role combines technical grooming expertise with compassionate care and strong client communication. Groomers play a key role in client satisfaction, repeat business, and presenting pets at their very best for every visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform breed-specific haircuts, bathing, and styling services with care, precision, and attention to detail
- Conduct client intake by reviewing grooming cards, confirming cut instructions, and assessing pet condition prior to grooming
- Document services, capture before/after photos, and maintain accurate grooming notes in each pet’s profile
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized grooming workspace while following all safety and hygiene protocols
- Monitor pets for signs of stress, illness, or injury and promptly report any concerns
- Coordinate with front desk staff regarding pricing, scheduling, and check-in/check-out notes
- Track grooming supplies weekly, submit orders as needed, and properly maintain grooming tools and equipment
- Support grooming revenue goals through exceptional service, add-on recommendations, and recurring appointment promotion
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure pets are groomed on time for scheduled checkouts
- Provide occasional complimentary services or baths to enhance the guest experience and encourage repeat visits
- Assist other departments as needed, following proper training and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Achieve and maintain AKC Grooming Certification (company-sponsored)
- Proven proficiency in breed-specific grooming, scissor work, and safe animal handling
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet parents
- Calm, patient demeanor and confidence working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Familiarity with grooming tools, sanitation practices, and basic pet health indicators
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle dogs up to 100+ lbs on leash
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
