As a Golf Course Worker, you will perform a variety of duties individually or as a member of a crew under the direction of various supervisors. Primary duties include:

Operate the various machinery and tools used in the maintenance of the golf course properties.
Perform manual labor tasks required to maintain the properties to a high level of detail, this may include but is not limited to tasks such as string trimming, manual excavations, landscape construction, etc.
Attend to Driving Range facilities by collecting and washing golf balls, restocking dispensers, and keeping the driving range areas neat and tidy.
Washing, fueling and staging of public rental power carts.
Pick up litter, complete general cleanup, basic maintenance and painting.

Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits or a Graduated Driver’s Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance will be considered assets.
Work as a team member, be aware of safety regulations and requirements and work safely, undertake all aspects of the job thoroughly and willingly.
Strong communication, planning and organizational skills; understanding of golf course operating practices; ability to deal effectively with a variety of customers.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in all types of weather conditions. The work is physically demanding and may involve heavy lifting, prolonged bending, crouching, kneeling and climbing.
Pre-employment Requirements
Must obtain a City of Calgary operator’s permit
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
Applicants may be contacted, interviewed, and hired throughout the duration of this competition.
Pre-employment Drug Test: An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.

Compensation: $28.82 – 31.91 per hour
Days of Work: Shifts vary to provide coverage for
7 days operations. Shifts are 7.5 to 9.5 hours in length.

Hours of work: Non-Standard 38 hour work week
