Full job description
The Skeleton Lake Golf Club is seekingMULTIPLEoutgoing individuals to fill positions for the 2024 season. Available positions included Pro-Shop and Grounds Maintenance. Both part and full-time positions are available through the end of October.
The Skeleton Lake golf course is a 9-hole, public golf course located in the Summer Village of Bondiss on the northeast side of Skeleton Lake, and 8 KM from Boyle, AB. The Skeleton Lake Golf Club is a seasonal facility serving the area since 1972 and includes a golf course, clubhouse, pro shop and restaurant.
Pro Shop Responsibilities Include:
> Knowledge of golf and the rules of golf is an asset;
> Power cart and general housekeeping/ cleaning/ sanitization, exterior clubhouse maintenance;
> Answer phones and respond to golf course or special event inquiries;
> Booking of tee times (online), golf equipment, apparel and accessory retail sales;
> Assisting in the coordination of golf tournaments and other special events; and,
> Opening and closing cash reconciliation.
Grounds Maintenance Responsibilities include:
> Enjoy working outdoors, an active lifestyle and able to work in inclement weather conditions when necessary;
> Operation of ride-on and walk-behind mowers, utility vehicles, string trimmers and blowers;
> Washing, fueling and maintenance of equipment;
> Manual labour such as bunker raking and maintenance, hand watering, excavation and the use of a variety of power/ hand tools;
> Maintenance and cleaning of on-course garbage/ recycling bins, and washrooms;
> Horticulture and landscape maintenance including the application of fertilizer and other products; and
> Work as a team member and assist other departments when needed.
General Qualifications and Requirements:
> The ability to follow AHS Golf Course Operators Guidelines and any other associated future COVID -19 Pandemic restrictions as directed by the province;
> Experience or interest in a golf course environment;
> Self-starter with a strong work ethic and communication skills;
> Reliable transportation and the ability to work early mornings, weekends and holidays;
> Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to learn new tasks;
> Work as a team member and assist other departments as required;
> Provide exceptional service and professionalism with club members and the public;
> Uphold safety program requirements and training; and,
> Supplemental duties pertaining to the everyday maintenance of the golf course and other duties as assigned or directed.
