GLELE – Labourer and Trades Helper (Temporary Help Services)
Position Overview
The National Research Council Canada (NRC) is seeking one (1) full-time Resource classified as GLELE – Labourer and Trades Helper under the Temporary Help Services (THS) program.
Contract Details
- Start Date: Approximately July 2, 2026
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7.5 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, including lunch break)
- Location: NRC Facility, 110 Gymnasium Place, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Mandatory Requirements
The proposed Resource must submit:
- An up-to-date resume demonstrating relevant experience and qualifications.
- Copies of all required certifications.
- Evidence of meeting the scope of work and tasks outlined in the NRC Statement of Work (SoW).
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid WHMIS certification.
- Ability to work at heights while performing lighting inspections and bulb replacements.
- Ability to safely lift and move furniture, office equipment, and maintenance materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in:
- General maintenance
- Facility operations
- Safety compliance
- Practical knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems
- Plumbing repairs
- Minor building maintenance and repair work
Preferred Qualifications
Additional safety certifications will be considered an asset, including:
- Fall Protection Training
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training
- Other relevant occupational health and safety certifications
Mandatory Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience performing duties similar to the following:
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Door hardware adjustments (weather stripping, greasing hinges, tightening door knobs, etc.)
- Ceiling tile replacement
Security Requirement
- Valid Government of Canada Reliability Clearance (mandatory).
Scope of Work
The Resource will support NRC facility operations by performing general maintenance activities, preventative maintenance inspections, minor repairs, inventory management, contractor support, and related operational duties while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards and procedures.
