We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Geotechnical Practice in Atlantic Canada, providing technical and operational

leadership

, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments.

Your role

within the team:

Our geotechnical engineers work closely with other Atkins

Réalis professionals multiple sectors such as transportation, rail & transit, energy, cities and developments as well as industrial.

You will

participate on multi-disciplinary teams and projects and will be expected to collaborate on

multidisciplinary

projects of all scales.

The successful applicant will be a senior Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and

project management

track record and a particular focus on the Energy sector in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. The role will include the execution of complex and major programs, supporting large proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as act as technical reference, and therefore good

communication skills

are essential.

The candidate will have a degree in civil engineering or geology with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and have a minimum of 10 years’ pertinent experience.

Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our infrastructure geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

The ideal candidate:

Proven experience in geotechnical engineering for energy, industrial, transport and infrastructure projects .A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent)

Professional Engineering Designation in NL, NS, NB, or PEI.Proven experience of acting in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.

Project management

– experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.

Proven geotechnical design experience.

Application of Design Standards and Guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.

Geohazards and geotechnical investigation experience.

Experienced in general geotechnical numerical software

Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.

Excellent

communication skills

and confidence to liaise with clients.
