Location: Onsite – 5 days per week (Mississauga)
Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 base salary

Your Role In a Nutshell
As the Senior Accountant, you will own the finance and accounting function at BoomerangFX. You will manage financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, and compliance, playing a central role in guiding business decisions and ensuring financial integrity. We are a growing SaaS company looking for a detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you will help maintain the integrity of our financial records and own the full accounting cycle in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role — ideal for someone who takes ownership, works well with deadlines, and thrives in a collaborative team.
What You Will Do
- Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Process semi-monthly payroll in coordination with HR — accurately and on time
- Own accounts payable and vendor management — code and verify invoices, process payments, maintain vendor records, and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare weekly AP aging reports
- Perform monthly AP and AR reconciliations — investigate variances and tie subledgers to the general ledger
- Perform cash flow analysis — monitor inflows and outflows, prepare cash position summaries, and provide projections for management
- Own and manage the full accounting cycle, from journal entries to financial reporting
- Lead the monthly close — journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Self-review figures, trace discrepancies to root cause, and resolve routine errors independently
- Maintain clean, organized records in QuickBooks Online
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, equivalent certification, or actively pursuing CPA
- 5+ years of experience in a general accounting or audit role
- Solid understanding of GAAP and the full accounting cycle
- QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency is mandatory — able to manage records and reports independently
- Proven track record with AP, vendor management, and bank reconciliations
- Hands-on experience running payroll processing independently
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, intermediate formulas)
- High attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines
- Strong communication skills — ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and HR teams
- Self-starter with high integrity, curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills — able to work independently with minimal supervision
- A genuine desire to learn, contribute, and grow, paired with an excellent team-player attitude
Nice to Have
- Experience in a SaaS, technology, or startup company
- Exposure to tools like Stripe, Float, ChurnZero, ADP, or similar platforms
- Experience processing payroll through platforms such as Ceridian or ADP
