Job DescriptionThe General Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial and statistical information. The Finance Department functions as a financial and statistical data processing centre and provides information and services to facilities and affiliates of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The General Accountant operates under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, policies and procedures, as well as collective agreements where applicable.
Job QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance or related field, Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of First Nations and Metis history in Saskatchewan along with an understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action
Knowledge of the healthcare system in Saskatchewan

SHA and unions continue to work through scope discussions. There is potential some positions currently OOS may transition inscope in the future however it is unknown if this position will be impacted
Travel within the province of Saskatchewan may be required
