We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Gelcoat Repair Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for restoring and maintaining the quality of gelcoat surfaces on boats, recreational vehicles, or other fiberglass structures. Duties
- Assess damaged gelcoat surfaces to determine the appropriate repair approach
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion
- Mix and apply gelcoat materials accurately, matching colors and textures for seamless repairs
- Use specialized tools such as sanders, polishers, and sprayers to restore surface finish
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and quality control protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in gelcoat repair or fiberglass restoration with a strong eye for detail
- Mechanical knowledge related to boat or vehicle maintenance is highly desirable
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics or maintenance, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and accurately
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
