Full Time Permanent Lighting Installer Jobs in Port Coquitlam at Star Illuminations (a Division of HolidayLights.com Inc.)
For over 30 years, HolidayLights.com Inc. has been in the Christmas lighting business. We manufacture and sell Christmas displays and lighting via our website and our network of distributors in the USA. We also rent and install Christmas displays and lighting for cities, commercial properties and business districts in Greater Vancouver via our Star Illuminations Division.
We have 7-8 full time permanent staff that work year-round and then grow to over 20 personnel each year during the Christmas season with many of our seasonal staff returning year after year. We emphasize a positive, supportive, professional work environment with a strong team approach and an organized systematic approach to providing our services to our customers, many who have used us for over 20 years. Christmas comes every year and with us working hard to provide the best quality of products and services to our customers, we are very fortunate to have very stable company performance year after year. As a result would like to find someone for this position that is looking for a long term career vs a short term job – who will be able to take on more responsibility each year and have their compensation grow accordingly.
This full time permanent position will be based at our Port Coquitlam facility. The job involves working at our commercial and municipal customer sites, installing Christmas lights and displays from September through to February and then working in our shop, repairing, assembling and packaging Christmas lights and displays during the off season.
The work requires good fitness: good hand speed and dexterity in the shop and in the field, the ability to work longer hours outside in all kinds of weather on rooftops of commercial buildings and using ladders and bucket trucks.
Safety training will be provided, however workers with past experience using a safety harness with life lines will be an asset. A clean driving record is required and training and/or experience with forklifts and Air Brakes would also be beneficial.
You should be very reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team and should take pride in quality workmanship.
