Full Time – Parts Specialist – Outdoor Power Equipment Jobs in Latham, NY at Grassland Equipment & Irrigation Corp.
Grassland Equipment & Irrigation Corporation, a regional outdoor power and turf equipment distributor has an immediate full time opening in our parts department. Position includes all aspects of the Parts Department including parts counter sales. Salary commensurate with experience.
Candidates must complete pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting parts customers via phone and person to person at the counter
- Researching parts with accuracy using electronic parts identification software
- Entering customer orders for shipment or pick-up
- Picking orders with accuracy for shipment and in-house equipment technicians
- Allocate parts to work orders
- Packing orders for shipment via UPS, LTL and pick-up
- Check-in and receive inbound shipments into the inventory management system and place product in proper bin locations
- Process outstanding backorders from inbound shipments
- Notify customers their order is ready
- Daily cycle counts and inventory control
- Restock shelves daily
- Maintain neat and clean parts room including sweeping, cleaning and trash removal
- Perform annual physical inventory
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a positive attitude and strong customer service skills
- Have mechanical ability, experience or related knowledge
- Energetic, Self Starter – ability to work independently
- Detail oriented
- Exercise good judgement
- Punctual and dependable
- Consistently work with accuracy and follow through
- Use computer to enter, access and retrieve data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of UPS small package shipping policies and procedures
- Some knowledge of LTL shipping procedures
Physical Demands:
- Extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching
- Occasional heavy lifting of items 50+ pounds
- Using ladder when needed
